At Dance Therapy, we engage an empathic creative process, using body movement and dance to assist in the integration of emotional, cognitive, physical, social and spiritual aspects of self on a path toward lowering stress for greater success.
Individual, Group and Children's Therapy
As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMT), Paula Grech works with clients privately and offers regular workshops in personal development. She is a UK-registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP), now resident in France, and also a member of the Société Française de Danse-Thérapie (SFDT).
Individual Therapy - Paula offers individual dance movement therapy for clients who need one-to-one support, wishing to explore their own issues in depth. Her therapy will support you as you work through trauma and pain. When people face challenging episodes in their lives, it can be important not to feel alone. By inviting you to engage with the body and movement, Paula is able to help you navigate towards healthier pathways, so that together we might find more adaptable ways for being in the world. People turn to therapeutic support to help them overcome different sorts of challenges, (including stress, health issues, divorce, a family crisis, or loss). Whatever the problem Paula offers a creative, sensitive and holistic approach in her private practice.
Paula will also help you develop strategies for coping by using dance movement therapy approaches. In one-to-one sessions, you'll work with body boundaries and unconscious thought patterns. While learning to attune and to trust in your own body/emotional processes, your body will discover a healing pathway through dance and movement. Our bodies have huge potential to create healthier patterns leading towards happier lives. Paula Grech offers her clients a safe holding space and complies with the European Dance Therapy Association Code of Ethics. She is able to offer a therapy space at Atelier du Bien Être in Prades le Lez, Salle Kiné Gym in Les Arceaux or at her home in Montferrier sur Lez.

Mother and Baby Group: 9 months to 3 years
First Steps Play and Movement Group
These sessions enable parents with young children to participate in a fun and playful group activity, engaging in song, play, movement and dance. The group has been designed to support early development aligning with movement patterns as well as observing social interaction with parent and baby and other group members. During the session we shall be focusing on children’s developmental stages from 9 months to three years. All movements are offered to enforce stronger attachments between parent and baby.
As Paula points out, "One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is ‘our time’, to enjoy being with them and helping them to grow in confidence and flourish as young people. During these sessions, my aim is to create a supportive and safely help space for parents to be able to voice concerns about these early stages of their children’s development and create a support group for parents facing challenges connected with moving to a new country and communicating in another language. My DMT experience, as well as having faced the challenges of moving to a new country with young children myself, enables me to be able to support others during this special time in a family’s life."
The First Steps Movement Group also helps to prepare three-year-olds to be able to socially adjust to Ecole Maternelle when they are three years old.
